But what, exactly, is a NextGen restaurant?

Simply put, they’re a new breed of operator in the full-service restaurant space. These operators are small- and mid-sized chains that aren’t afraid to toss the rule book and try something normally not considered a part of casual dining. They’re adaptable, flexible, and dynamic. They feature hybrid layouts and formats, which now often include a heavy focus on off-premises. And these brands are serving as change-agents for all of full service, establishing a new standard for employee care, culture, sustainability, vendor relationships, and growth prospects.

NextGen and emerging full-service brands are eager to gather and learn from one another. That’s why FSR is launching the NextGen Restaurant Summit—to give these unique brands a forum to find one another and establish their identity within the industry.
