After obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Illinois – Champaign-Urbana, Cindy Pyun has consistently demonstrated a passion for excellence in leadership, training, and program development in a career spanning over two decades in the restaurant and hospitality industry. Currently serving as the Director of Training at Angry Crab Shack, Cindy is driving transformative initiatives to enhance the learning experience across its corporate and franchised locations worldwide.
In this role, Cindy has been instrumental in the development and implementation of a cutting-edge Learning Management System, elevating training programs for both management and hourly positions. Beyond the routine, Cindy has played a crucial role in designing and facilitating comprehensive training curricula and timelines for new restaurant openings. Her commitment to excellence extends to engaging with potential franchise partners, where Cindy actively participates and presents from the beginning of their journey.
Prior to her current position, Cindy served as the Director of Global Training at Kona Grill. Here, she demonstrated a keen understanding of organizational needs, designing and maintaining over 10 management and hourly staff training programs. Cindy played a pivotal role in developing and implementing a successful Management Development Program, contributing to a talent pipeline crucial for company growth.
Adept at handling large-scale operations, Cindy was responsible for the successful rollout of a new Learning Management System for over 3,000 employees. Managing the comprehensive HR Program and Finance compliance process & systems, Cindy has demonstrated meticulous oversight in budgeting, planning, and implementation of training initiatives across 40+ locations and the corporate office.
